Awesome! I love it. The wood came with a small split, but it blends into the character of the wood. Really neat.

Got this for my fiancé for his birthday.. he is a huge larry bird fan.. I mean.. beyond. he has excel spreadsheets proving why Larry is the best of all time... He absolutely loved this gift. Totally wasn't expecting it. I know it made him tear up a little, he was in such disbelief. Arguably one of the best sports illustrated covers of all time. The quality is incredible. I can't wait to order more from this site for future christmas gifts.

Got as a gift for my neighbor who is a huge Lion's fan, his first year with season tickets. Good year to make that purchase. He loves it in his new office.

This was great. I then ordered a canvas of Thomas Merton and got some cheap poorly stapled piece. Sent it back Saturday. Hope I get a refund. Yesterday I ordered Our Sister Thea Bowman on canvas. Hope it comes as ordered and like St. Lazarus of Bethany.
Artist's Description
Lesson 1, the challenge for my students was to learn that bananas have a logic of structure particular to them and that in fact, drawing involves understanding what is happening in a 4th dimension, the dimension of change, each 3 dimensional mass of facets has a will of its own to change through space. So in learning to draw they were almost immediately drawn to getting the details right and always missed the will of the thrusting banana, a lovely thing not easily to be ignored. And how, after you finally got your drawing right, did you get the elusive water to espouse that logic without a second chance or lose that exquisite transparence to a muddy sort of platitudinal opaqueness? This first lesson was both the easiest and the most difficult, students had to forget decades of playing with crayons and surrender to the myriad accidents of water, buckling cotton paper and pig-headed pigments.
About Xavier Francois Hussenet
I have been drawing and painting as far back as I can remember with a child's interest gothic architecture and sweeping swaths of red taffeta. I have had only a few classes in drawing and painting. I love watercolors because I am working with water over which I rarely have any control and which constantly challenges me to adapt. Nothing can replace the brilliant luminosity of paper coming through successive washes of pigments subject to the rules of water and gravity that the artist carefully orchestrates, if he is even a little successful, into an atmospheric illusion of unparalleled clarity and enchantment. I also enjoy oils and am a great admirer of Van Gogh, so I have decided to do like him, and learn by copying the masters which...
